My background |

Although trained as an economist, I have worked for
many years as a computer programmer, systems analyst, and web
programmer. I spent seven years working for a large
insurance company and completed several courses in insurance and
financial planning. I am an avid observer of current events and
politics and have been following health policy for several years.

My goal: health policy understanding |

There is a constant flow of
news about health care issues of current interest, but these
provide a fragmented understanding of health policy.
At the same time there is an abundant supply of detailed health
policy material on the web, but at a level geared towards policy
specialists. I will try to bridge that gap on this site by
drawing on detailed sources to provide context for
health care news and build understanding of health policy
for the general public.
